Wooden bridge and Gazebo restored

Jun 20, 2018News

We started with Wooden bridge reconstruction in spring 2016 and finished by autumn same year. Entire bridge is reconstructed from larchwood, which should ensure it’s longevity. All the works were made by Garden employees, under the expert supervision of Garden’s carpenter Marko Pavlek.

The following year we reconstructed the Gazebo, using larchwood as well. Previous gazebo was never finished according to original plans and painted white, which was corrected in this restoration project: appropriate base was added, as well as tin roof with decoration, all the woodwork was painted using the same mahogany red colour of the Exhibition pavilion and the Wooden bridge, and the flower beds were planted with new perennials. The Gazebo was a present from the Arboretum Lisičine on the occasion of the Garden’s 100th birthday (1989).
